LESTER PERKINS

 

I was born in Columbia, Missouri, and have lived most of my life in the central Missouri area. I am a self-taught artist, and have been painting since 1950. My first paintings were of some historical buildings in Rocheport, Missouri,  one of which  is on display in the Rocheport museum.  My artwork has been on exhibit at numerous mid-Missouri shows over the years, along with  an invitational show in both Kansas City and Excelsior Springs.  I have received numerous ribbons throughout the years, including “Best of Show”, “People’s Choice”, and “First Place”.  My love of art and the challenge of portraying places and things on canvas with oil paint and brushes is why I continue to do what I love to do, and so I paint on.
